PROJECT OVERVIEWSuperHoist Assists with Landmark Build-to-Rent Scheme

CLIENT NAYLOR LOVE
PROJECT SYLVIA PARK DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
LOCATION AUCKLAND, NZ
EQUIPMENT 3 X SUPERHOIST RX2340

Naylor Love tasked Preston Hire with providing a solution to the significant material handling needs of their Sylvia Park development project in Auckland.

New Zealand’s biggest build-to-rent (BTR) scheme, the Sylvia Park project will deliver 295 new residential units specifically designed for long-term tenancy. Although relatively new to the New Zealand market, the BTR model is heralded as offering residents both the convenience and flexibility of renting and the security of tenure typically only provided by home ownership. To further inspire long-term tenants, the new residential complex will offer a range of attractive amenities, including a private gym, co-working space, rooftop terrace, barbecues, and on-site maintenance.

Naylor Love required approximately 12,000 tonnes of construction material to be delivered to three separate buildings on site. They also needed a way to transport subcontractors and their tools to different levels of the buildings. Preston Hire offered the solution by supplying and installing three of our RX2340 SuperHoists. Consisting of a fully enclosed cabin that moves vertically along a mast structure, our SuperHoists enable operators to easily and safely navigate access for materials and personnel to multiple levels of a building under construction. European engineering and cutting-edge technology allow our SuperHoist™ fleet to provide world-class vertical access solutions. This is demonstrated in the impressive load capacities of our SuperHoists and their quick speeds of up to 36m/min, ensuring timely and efficient material transportation. The added perk of a cloud-based platform provides real-time hoist data, including ride times, load capacities, waiting times, and floor information, all visually presented in informative graphics in every SuperHoist™.

The hoists were successfully and quickly installed for buildings A, B, and C up to level 3. Thereafter, Preston Hire was engaged to perform multiple hoist jumps as the building progressed upwards. The SuperHoist installed in Building A overall carried loads of approximately 4000 tons, building B’s hoist carried approximately 9000 tons, and Building C’s hoist, which is still currently installed, was approximately 8661 tons.

Naylor Love was delighted with the reliability of our SuperHoists as our regular maintenance checks on the hoists resulted in no major downtime throughout their 12-month hire.

“At Preston Hire, we’re driven by our commitment to provide a reliable service and safe, versatile, and efficient equipment,” said Francois Buys, National Manager of Preston Hire. “This is motivated by our mantra that you can COUNT ON US for all your specialised heavy equipment needs. We pride ourselves on the reliability of our world-leading products (like the SuperHoist™), on the reliability of our experienced and skilled staff, and the reliability of our service, including delivery, installation, and on-site troubleshooting.”

We look forward to helping to provide more solutions for Naylor Love in the future.
